1310-1329 Scotland & Switzerland Gain Independence
This twenty year period covers the reign of Edward II of England
who inherited the Scottish problem and died in 1327, being succeeded by his son
Edward III.

In 1314 Edward II left Berwick intent on settling the
Scottish problem for once and for all, but at Bannockburn his army met a
surprise attack, he fled, his army followed, and Robert Bruce finally gained
his prize in 1328 -- the formal recognition of Scottish independence by an
English government - and Edward II gained his prize - peace!
In 1315 there was a Swiss War of Independence, in 1315-1318 an Irish War of Independence led by Edward Bruce -- the self proclaimed High King of Ireland and younger brother of the Scottish King, Robert the Bruce.
After 1318 there was twelve years of peace on earth.
